A perhaps less-than-scientific survey commissioned by an eyewear company has found that British men spend 6 months of their entire life simply ogling women. Ananova reports that men spend a great deal of time each day checking out the talent.
Researchers claim men will target eight different girls every day and spend two minutes eyeing up each one.
The first thing the average bloke will look at is the breasts before working down to the bottom and then the legs.

Ananova reports that police were called to a Bulgarian playground after 23 schoolgirls met there to fight over who would get the handsome boy.
The girls, aged between 15 and 18, used brass knuckles, chains and beer bottles to fight over the lad whose name was not revealed.

And this boy must be pretty damned good looking to invoke so much violence from 23 admirers. Hollywood agents need to wing their way to Bulgaria immediately and hunt down this new Brad Pitt.

17 year old Emma Davis decided it would be funny to attach her red bra to the radio antenna on her friend’s car.
Unfortunately they both were hurtling down a major Ohio freeway at the time.

Scientists studying dung beetles have made an interesting discovery. They found that males with the biggest horns often have tiny testicles.
Dung beetles grow large single horns on their heads in order to attract females and fight off other males. Researchers found that beetles who invest energy in a bigger horn tend to lose out in other areas, the gonads being the main area. This may effect a beetle’s chances of reproduction; he may get the girls with the flashy headgear, but his sperm may not swim so well once he gets to have sex.
New Scientist has all the details.
Naturally this story invites all sorts of jokes about flashy sportscars, expensive suits and inverse proportions. But we won’t go there.

An episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” features two people who come into the emergency department, needing assistance because their genital piercings are tangled together.

I spent absolutely ages creating my Quirky and Bizarre category at Quirky Sex Links. I figured that, since this site is about quirky sex, I should have a nice big selection of very strange porn sites.
And my goodness, there’s some weird stuff out there.

I’ve created a new category in the linklist - Female Orgasms.
I’m rather proud that I have this category. I’m sure the majority of porn link directories won’t have it. Sure, there might be a “Squirting” category, but I wanted to have a page that was broader, more inclusive and also more positive.
For too long, porn has only been about the male orgasm. That is the ultimate point of many sex scenes because it’s assumed that the viewer is always male and that’s how sex should end.
Female orgasms have been given short shrift in porn for a number of reasons. The women in porn are fantasy objects, so their pleasure isn’t really the main priority.
There’s also the whole obsession with depicting pleasure visually. This is why the cumshot is so important - it proves the guy had an orgasm. Until recently porn producers couldn’t work out how to conclusively show that a woman came, so often they just didn’t bother with it at all.
The popularity of “squirting” or female ejaculation has come about because it gives pornographers a way to “prove” she came. Whether the copious quantities of fluid gushing everywhere is necessarily the real thing doesn’t matter… it looks like she had an orgasm, so everyone’s happy.
As a woman I wanted to make a female orgasm category because it’s more inclusive. Not every woman squirts, fabulous as it may be, and I really hope young women aren’t getting the idea that everyone does it or that it’s something that they should be doing.
Also, there are some sites out there that are simply about female orgasms, wet sheets or not. One of the more interesting versions of this is The Female Orgasm. These guys are genuinely curious about all things orgasmic, and are eager to show contractions. They want proof, alright, but they want quivering, not gushing.

Thanks to the ever-fabulous Ignoble Awards, I now know about a piece of strange research into curing intracable recurring hiccups.

The winner of the Ignoble Award for medicine was the author of a paper called ‘Termination of intractable hiccups with digital rectal massage.”
A 60-year-old man with acute pancreatitis developed persistent hiccups after insertion of a nasogastric tube. Removal of the latter did not terminate the hiccups which had also been treated with different drugs, and several manoeuvres were attempted, but with no success. Digital rectal massage was then performed resulting in abrupt cessation of the hiccups. Recurrence of the hiccups occurred several hours later, and again, they were terminated immediately with digital rectal massage.
The “abrupt cessation” part had me wondering if said 60 year old knew the finger was coming. Was this, in fact, the ultimate evidence that giving people a sudden scare is the cure for hiccups? Was the finger cold, perhaps?
The other lesson we can learn from this is that, should you have the hiccups and someone suggests a new cure that’s not a drink of water, just say no.

Almost everyone is familiar with the Mahna Mahna song (sometimes written as Ma Na Ma Na).
You know, the nonsense one that goes “Manah manah - do do do do do…” Most of us know it via the crazy-haired hip Muppet who is accompanied by two pink cow-things.
Thanks to this Wikipedia entry, I now know the song’s origin, and I have to say, it’s a bit of a shock.
The song was written in 1968 by Swedish composer Piero Umiliani for an X-rated “shockumentary” film called Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso (Sweden, Hell and Heaven). The film looked at the sex lives of the Swedish and was banned in that country for being too explicit. It featured scenes shot at wife-swapping parties and lesbian nightclubs. The original version of Mahna Mahna was played over a scene featuring lesbian BDSM.
The song has been covered numerous times but was only a hit in 1977 after it appeared on The Muppet Show soundtrack.

Seems that Jim Henson may well have known the origins of the song but chose to use it anyway, mainly because he liked it.
Piero Umiliani passed away in 2001, but the original soundtrack has been re-released and is available via Amazon.
